Jonathan's Story
Jonathan Reid MacCrea was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia when he was six months old. His four year old brother, Matthew, courageously donated his bone marrow to Jon, but 15 months later, after a valiant struggle, Jonathan died.
In Jon's home state of New Jersey, he and his family were assisted by two organizations dedicated to the needs of families with children facing cancer. Realizing there must be a similar need in Central New York, and as a memorial to her grandson, Syracuse resident Pat MacCrea founded The Jonathan Cancer Fund in 1993.
